An Amazing Discovery
Recently, there are a lot of things going on in my life, both personal and work related. I slept late, but still woke up early around 4-5am.
This Monday, instead of lying in bed until the sun rises as I normally do, I decided to get up and meditate in the dark. I talked to God, told him all about my problems, and then I prayed in tongues. After that, I stopped thinking about these things and went on with my everyday routines. Surprisingly, my mind was so clear that solutions kept coming to my mind. Many things also seemed to turn around by themselves .....
On Tuesday, I decided to get up early again to meditate. I told God how things were going, talked to Him, and then prayed in tongues. When I started my daily routines, solutions kept coming to my mind again. What surprised me was, I took immediate actions without any procrastination like I normally do. I felt satisfied and rested well at night.
Give Our Time To God As An Offering
This morning (Wednesday), I got lazy and laid in bed until my normal wake up time at around 6:30 am. However, when I got up, I felt so stressed because time seemed so insufficient that I had to rush through everything! I began to miss the past two days when I felt so relaxed and productive .....
I immediately repented and told God that I should have spent the early morning with Him! Then an idea suddenly came to my mind ~ TIME is a gift from God! Like everything else, we should give the first part of the gift we receive as an offering to Him! Therefore, the first part of our day should be spent as an offering to God!
I immediately re-scheduled my time. Even though I knew that I would be late, I stopped everything and meditated for half an hour - talking to God, praying to Him, and meditating on His Words. After that, I felt relaxed again. My mind was clear, and I became more focused and productive.
God Wants To Teach Us, Not Punish Us
Through this experience, I realized that time is a gift we receive from God, and we must make an offering like all the other good things that we receive from Him! Also, we should truly cast all our cares upon Him! We are living in perilous times, who can face our everyday challenges without asking for wisdom from our Heavenly Father?
I am so grateful that our great Teacher, the Holy Spirit taught me this wisdom. Even though I missed it this morning and lost my peace for a while, God quickly restored it to me once I have learnt the lesson. Like every loving father, God never wants to punish His children, He just wants to teach us.
Cast Your Cares Upon Him , For He Cares For You!
(1 Peter 5:7)
Jesus said to His followers:
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28
Let us therefore cast all our cares upon Him. As Paul said, we should ...
... Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let our requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, shall keep our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
